I'm alive, I finally uploaded something. I do check DA everyday though. So yeah, I'm always around, it's just that I don't do a lot of things.

I really don't know what to post when responding to people's art, ya know? I mean, how many times can say "Wow, it looks awesome!" to friends of mine. I honestly like most of their work but I sound so repetitive after a while, it seems like I'm just lying through my teeth to be nice. But it's not really like that at all! So I don't post anything and rarely comment on art anymore.

I got my own scanner now so I'm trying to post up more things. Hopefully, it will also help me to improve a lot more. I have random ideas floating around in my head, I will try to get them out on paper.

Here's the deal. The first ten people to respond to this journal gets a positive review of their art from me. Also, I'll post the names of some of the artwork that really stand out to me in their gallery. Everyone that gets promoted in this way have to do something similar.

This idea is 's with a bit of a variation, since I'm lazy.

1.
One thing I noticed about her art is that it keeps improving as she does more of it. The coloring and the drawing gets better. For example, I think that the colors of the hair and eyes is awesome in "Serene Goddess". Definantly check this gallery out, it's worth it.

Some of my favorites in her gallery: "Serene Goddess", "The Sword Fighter from Sacae", "Friends"

2.
A friend of mine that helped me out from near the beginning of the this DA account. I would say she mastered her own style of manga-style drawing, and if she hasn't yet, she's damn near mastering it. She's even doing her own manga, Monochrome Sekai, which I think would definantly be worth checking out. The profiles she posted for the characters shows that she can draw a variety of different people but I can still tell that she drew it from the way it is drawn.

Some of my favorites in gallery: "Loyalty - a sketch", "Black+White - for Kat", Monochromo Sekai Profile Series

3.
I have to say the way she draws is very cute. She also seems to be trying new things, which is always good for everyone. In some of her drawings, she seems to be going for a deeper meaning. Maybe she should pursue this more?

Some of my favorites in gallery: "The Worlds Crime G-I-R-L Cover", "Wyrda x Roark", "Rosette and Daphne"

I'm still alive and yes, I'm still drawing. Did I mention that I still don't have a scanner. Without it, I can't upload anything. I only have one drawing done as of now though but it looks like it's one of my best for now.

I just got my computer fixed and even got norton and try to keep it remain fixed. It's expensive, I can't afford a scanner now. They're freaking expensive, at least the ones I see on the newspaper ads anyways. I suppose I'll just try to upload everything when the semester ends, I'm simply too busy to do most things and have to do major planning and scheduling if I want to do anything outside of school or work.

Speaking of major planning and scheduling, I did a lot of it for the upcoming anime convention in town. Oni-con, here I come! I can't wait!

Tagged Again

Sun Aug 27, 2006, 4:33 PM
I got tagged again, this time by one PearlyStarlight. Um...yeah, you're suppose to post on the person's site and let them know that they have been tagged after you post it on your journal. But since I read it, here goes!

I have to list 10 things about my art and then tag 6 people.

1. I have not learned how to do coloring of any type as of yet. One of my friends hate it and one of them love it, I just dunno how to do it. I'm too lazy to read an online tutorial.

2. My favorite thing to use to make artwork with is plain old 0.7 mechanical pencil and a click eraser thing. I barely do anything with my stuff on photoshop, mostly only to resize and mess with the contrast.

3. I shade by smudging pencil. I shade in the darkest area of an object very dark and smudge it. Then I either shade more, erase some, or smudge some more until I get the look I want.

4. I got DreamerTakako to help me out with body proportions and drawing of the head. I haven't tried drawing a guy yet since then. I'll do it soon.

5. I usually am not sure if I change the contrast too little or too much when I do it on photoshop.

6. It takes me forever to finish a drawing, I'm super lazy.

7. I press down really hard and usually leave lines everywhere even after I erase. It's a family trait, I swear! I use photoshop to get rid of some of them but not all of them can be gotten rid of because of the shading.

8. I keep thinking of stuff I want to draw but never really have the time to do it. I also don't think that I have the skill to do some of the stuff I want to do but I don't really get depressed over it like most people.

9. I want to learn how to do more styles of anime eyes, especially the more fancy and cute ones. But I'm too lazy to search for or read any online tutorials.

10. I mostly just draw my RP characters, should probably do some of my friend's too. Maybe some fanart once in a while.

Crumbbled Piece of Paper

Mon Jul 3, 2006, 12:20 AM
Ever worked on a drawing for a long while only to mess up one a small important part and be unable to fix it until the eraser rips a hole in the paper? It happend to me. After that, I just kinda gave up for a while. I dunno when I'll pic up the pencil again...
